Paris-Henry County Heritage Center

Established in 1989, the Heritage Center is located in Cavitt Place, the most prestigious mansion in Paris when it was built in 1916. The Italian Renaissance Revival, two-story home was called “the jewel in the crown of Paris,” by one state historical expert.

The Heritage Center is a local history museum, featuring periodic exhibits in addition to regular tours of this beautiful building. Much more than a storehouse for artifacts, we call the Heritage Center a teaching museum. It is a place where people can learn about the history of this community.

We house a gift shop featuring Paris and Henry County memorabilia. We also are available for rental for your special events.

The museum is in the heart of the North Poplar Historic Neighborhood, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. We are within walking distance of the Historic Downtown Business District, which is also on the National Register of Historic Places.
